A Union Jack was seen flying upside down during the visit of King Charles III and Queen Camilla to Arlington National Cemetery.

A diplomatic misstep occurred during the visit of King Charles III and Queen Camilla to Arlington National Cemetery during their trip to the United States.
After bidding farewell to Donald Trump and Melania Trump on April 30, the King, 77, and Queen, 78, traveled to Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia, to pay their respects at one of the nation’s most important military memorial sites. After parting ways with Donald Trump and Melania Trump on April 30, the King, 77, and Queen, 78, went to Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia, to honor those remembered at one of the country’s most significant military memorials. According to the Flag Institute, there is a correct way to hoist the national emblem. To display the Union Jack properly, “in the half of the flag nearest the flagpole, the broader diagonal white stripe must appear above the red diagonal stripe, as Scotland’s St. Andrew’s Cross takes precedence over Ireland’s St. Patrick’s Cross.” “It is highly improper to fly the flag upside down,” notes the Flag Institute. The Union Jack—also known as the Union Flag—combines the heraldic crosses of the historic kingdoms of England and Wales, Scotland, and Ireland, realms over which King Charles III reigns, although since 1921 only Northern Ireland has remained part of the United Kingdom. The flag error was the second such incident to draw attention during the state visit of King Charles III and Queen Camilla to the United States this week, marking the 250th anniversary of American independence. On April 24, the Friday before the trip began, ABC News correspondent James Longman reported that Australian flags were briefly displayed alongside American flags on light poles along a major thoroughfare in Washington, D.C., the King and Queen’s first major stop in the United States. “For about two hours, they put the Australian flag up alongside the Stars and Stripes… I think they realized their mistake, and they've replaced them now with the Union Jack,” Longman said in a video shared on Instagram. The Washington Examiner later reported that the Australian flags had been mistakenly installed along part of 17th Street NW near the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, which houses many offices for White House staff, adding that an official said the error was “quickly” corrected. “We posted those flags, but it was quickly rectified, and we were able to remove them,” an official with the D.C. Department of Transportation told the outlet, adding that authorities are reviewing how the mistake occurred. The Australian flag includes the Union Jack in its upper hoist, reflecting the country’s Commonwealth ties. Australia is one of Britain’s 14 Commonwealth realms, and King Charles III also serves as its monarch.

U.S. Plans to Withdraw 5,000 Troops from Germany Within 6–12 Months

WASHINGTON — The United States will withdraw about 5,000 troops from Germany over the next six to 12 months, the Pentagon said Friday, carrying out President Donald Trump’s threat amid tensions with Germany’s leader over the U.S. war with Iran. Former President Donald Trump had earlier this week threatened to withdraw some troops from a NATO ally after Chancellor Friedrich Merz said the United States was being “humiliated” by Iranian leadership and criticized Washington’s lack of a clear strategy in the war. Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said in a statement that the decision followed a comprehensive review of the Department of Defense’s force posture in Europe and reflected current operational needs and conditions on the ground. Germany hosts several U.S. military installations, including the headquarters for its European and Africa commands, Ramstein Air Base, and a major medical center in Landstuhl, where casualties from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq have been treated. The United States also stations nuclear weapons in the country. The planned withdrawal would involve about 14% of the 36,000 U.S. service members currently stationed in Germany. News of the move prompted swift backlash from congressional Democrats and a Washington-based defense think tank, who argued it could benefit Russian President Vladimir Putin and undermine U.S. security interests. Sen. Jack Reed of Rhode Island, the top Democrat on the Senate Armed Services Committee, said the decision “suggests American commitments to our allies are dependent on the president’s mood.” “The president should immediately halt this reckless action before it leads to irreversible consequences for our alliances and long-term national security,” Reed added. Bradley Bowman, a defense expert at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, said the U.S. military presence in Germany and across Europe “not only strengthens deterrence against further Kremlin aggression but also enables the projection of American military power into the Mediterranean, the Middle East, and Africa.” Trump declined to answer reporters’ questions about the withdrawal on Friday as he boarded Air Force One in Ocala, Florida, after a rally promoting his economic agenda. He made a similar proposal during his first term, when he said he would withdraw about 9,500 of the roughly 34,500 U.S. troops then stationed in Germany. However, the plan was never implemented, and President Joe Biden formally halted it shortly after taking office in 2021. U.S. allies in NATO have been preparing for a potential troop withdrawal since Trump took office, as Washington signaled that Europe would need to take greater responsibility for its own security—including support for Ukraine—in the future. Depending on operations, exercises, and troop rotations, roughly 80,000 to 100,000 U.S. personnel are typically stationed across Europe. For more than a year, NATO allies have anticipated that the additional forces deployed after Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 would be the first to be withdrawn. Ed Arnold, a European security expert at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) in London, said European concerns are focused more on the possible redeployment of key assets—such as Patriot missile systems and ammunition—from Germany to the Middle East. In October, the United States confirmed plans to scale back its troop presence along NATO’s eastern flank near Ukraine. The decision to withdraw between 1,500 and 3,000 troops was made with little notice, unsettling allies such as Romania, where NATO operates an air base

"How Air Force One Compares to the Lavish Qatari 747 — Trump's Dream 'Palace in the Sky'"

President Donald Trump says Air Force One isn't as impressive as some of the planes of the leaders of Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. 'It's much smaller,' he says.

Certainly! Here's a rewritten version of the sentence for clarity and style:

Former President Donald Trump remarked that Air Force One pales in comparison to the aircraft used by leaders of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, saying, "It's much smaller."

When he lands and looks over at the planes of the leaders of Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates sitting on the tarmac, he says his presidential ride doesn't compare. Yet as Trump plans to accept Boeing 747-8, often dubbed a "palace in the sky," from Qatar's royal family ‒ a $400 million foreign gift that would be the largest ever to a U.S. president ‒ the exterior differences might not jump off the page for the casual flyer.

The Qatari plane stretches 18 feet 4 inches longer than Air Force One, can carry more weight and fly slightly faster and farther. It's also 22 years newer than Air Force One, built in 1990. Both planes hold about the same number of passengers and have the same height. But the Qatari plane separates itself most visibly with its lavish inside amenities ‒ creamy white and tan leather furnishings, rugs and artwork designed by the famed French interior design firm Cabinet Alberto Pinto, according to Bloomberg.

It's also significantly newer—built in 2012 compared to Air Force One’s 1990 model. Both jets are similar in height and can accommodate roughly the same number of passengers.

What truly sets the Qatari jet apart, however, is its opulent interior: creamy white and tan leather furnishings, plush rugs, and artwork curated by the renowned French design house Cabinet Alberto Pinto, according to Bloomberg.

Trump has described the current Air Force One as an aging relic and cast the Qatari jet as a much-needed upgrade. “We’re the United States of America,” he said. “I believe that we should have the most impressive plane.”

However, converting the Qatari aircraft into Air Force One would require a complete interior overhaul.

Kennedy, known as RFK Jr, has been a vocal rival of US government immunization strategy, scrutinizing the quantity of hits given in youth, planting uncertainty about the Coronavirus antibodies, which he portrayed as the "deadliest immunization made", and pushing exposed claims about the connections between MMR punches and mental imbalance.

In any case, Kennedy has not obviously required a prohibition on any pokes, saying in a meeting with NBC News last week that he has no designs to "remove immunizations".

In his new job as top of the US Branch of Wellbeing and Human Administrations, Kennedy would have oversight of 10 organizations with enormous influence over medications guideline and general wellbeing, including the Food and Medication Organization and the Habitats for Infectious prevention and Counteraction.

Yet, Trump's designation of Kennedy is probably going to confront an extreme Senate affirmation process, close by other disputable bureau picks, for example, representative Matt Gaetz for head legal officer.

Kennedy has likewise required a cleanse of "whole divisions" of the FDA. He composed on X keep going month: "FDA's conflict on general wellbeing is going to end. On the off chance that you work for the FDA and are essential for this bad framework, I have two directives for you: 1. Protect your records, and 2. Gather your packs."

The possibility of Kennedy sanctioning his dubious perspectives impacted stocks across the drug area however immunization biotech organizations were among the hardest hit on Thursday night and Friday.

Michael Yee, an expert at Jefferies, said Kennedy's assignment added to an all around "faint" standpoint for immunization producers in light of declining deals development. "RFK Jr has . . . been straightforward about scaling down FDA, so there is worry on organization assets, editorial on [weight misfortune drugs] and furthermore immunizations," said Yee.

Shares in Bavarian Nordic, a creator of immunizations for illnesses including rabies and mpox, fell 17%, notwithstanding the little Danish organization keeping up with its direction in results distributed on Friday.

He added that he expected an expansion in biodefence spending and storing from the Trump organization, which would support deals of Bavarian Nordic's smallpox immunizations.

In any case, other bureau deputies have sent out an alternate vibe about guideline of pharma gatherings.

In a post on X on Friday, Vivek Ramaswamy, a previous biotech CEO who has been selected close by Elon Musk to regulate an administration proficiency drive, upheld lessening the boundaries to getting new medications endorsed.

"My #1 issue with FDA is that it raises superfluous hindrances to advancement," said Ramaswamy. "This prevents patients from getting to promising treatments and raises doctor prescribed drug costs by obstructing contest. The organization's staff have hard negligence for the effect of their day to day choices on the expense of growing new treatments."

In an uncommon splendid spot for biotech stocks, drug engineers exploring hallucinogenic medications for psychological wellness bounced because of Kennedy's promotion for the medicines. I’ll be honest—Donald Trump isn’t a perfect individual. He can be crass and often speaks without thinking about the repercussions. His approach to diplomacy is unconventional, to say the least. However, this election presents a binary choice: either Trump or Kamala Harris. I urge everyone to support Trump, despite his flaws.

As Scott Adams, the well-known creator of Dilbert, notes, America faces four existential threats, and only one candidate has a plan to tackle them.

**National Debt**: Elon Musk is stepping in to help cut costs.

**World War III**: Trump would work to end the Ukraine conflict.

**Food Supply**: RFK Jr. aims to address the issues in our food system.

**Open Borders**: Trump would take action to secure the border.

**National Debt**: A notable former Democrat, Elon Musk, has recently joined Trump’s team. Musk, recognized as one of the brightest minds today, has revolutionized the electric vehicle industry and shown remarkable efficiency in his ventures. For example, he has successfully landed reusable rockets—something NASA struggled to achieve— and provided global internet access through Starlink at a fraction of government costs.

After acquiring Twitter, Musk streamlined operations by reducing the staff by about 70%, which improved functionality without sacrificing revenue. If you use Twitter (now X), you’ll see it runs better than ever, with community notes replacing government censorship to address misinformation. Musk's focus on efficiency stands in stark contrast to government waste, and he has committed to collaborating with the Trump administration to enhance governmental efficiency.

A government efficiency initiative led by Elon Musk would be a game-changer for our country, especially given the out-of-control federal spending. The U.S. national debt currently sits at $35.33 trillion—around $140,000 per person—and exceeds the projected 2024 GDP of $28.78 trillion. This debt continues to rise as the government spends more than it collects, with a deficit of $1.89 trillion anticipated for 2024.

I believe we could eliminate half of the federal workforce without the average American even noticing. Musk and Trump would ensure that only the most productive employees remain. Naturally, many federal employees oppose this, as they benefit from taxpayer support. "The swamp" will resist, but if successful, these cuts could lead to unprecedented success for the U.S.

Such success would allow Trump to eliminate taxes on tips, Social Security, and overtime while still generating more revenue than necessary. Trump has even proposed making interest on auto loans tax-deductible. These policies would benefit everyone. Plus, Musk has indicated he would undertake this effort for free. Let’s not forget that Trump also served without a salary during his last term, a detail often overlooked by mainstream media.

Harris’ plan to tackle the spiraling national debt relies on taxing “the rich” and investing in an “opportunity economy” through various tax credits for worthy causes. However, this approach has significant flaws: there simply aren’t enough wealthy individuals to sustain such high levels of spending. The definition of “rich” tends to shift downward over time, and there’s no shortage of “worthy” causes to fund.

To put it bluntly, there aren’t enough millionaires to extract $1.8 trillion from annually. Additionally, Harris has proposed a tax on unrealized capital gains, which could have disastrous consequences. For instance, residents in Portsmouth recently saw property valuations increase by $250,000 or more. Imagine having to pay the federal government 15% of that increase.

The impact on local communities could be severe if the federal government demanded $30,000 or more from homeowners across the country. You might think, “I’m not rich, this doesn’t affect me!” But consider this: the first federal income tax was only 3% and targeted the top 3% of earners. Look at how that evolved over time.  More.....
