Harris’ plan to tackle the spiraling national debt relies on taxing “the rich” and investing in an “opportunity economy” through various tax credits for worthy causes. However, this approach has significant flaws: there simply aren’t enough wealthy individuals to sustain such high levels of spending. The definition of “rich” tends to shift downward over time, and there’s no shortage of “worthy” causes to fund.
To put it bluntly, there aren’t enough millionaires to extract $1.8 trillion from annually. Additionally, Harris has proposed a tax on unrealized capital gains, which could have disastrous consequences. For instance, residents in Portsmouth recently saw property valuations increase by $250,000 or more. Imagine having to pay the federal government 15% of that increase.

Donald Trump's campaign has accused British Prime Minister Keir Starmer's Labour Party of "blatant foreign interference" in the U.S. presidential election, citing the party's volunteers who traveled to the U.S. to support Kamala Harris's campaign. The campaign has filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission, urging an immediate investigation into what it describes as "apparent illegal foreign national contributions made by the Labour Party of the United Kingdom and accepted by Harris for President."

The complaint referenced media reports and a now-deleted LinkedIn post by Sofia Patel, head of operations for the Labour Party, in which she stated that "nearly 100" current and former Labour staff would be traveling to the U.S. soon to support Kamala Harris, the Democratic vice president. The complaint letter stated, "Those searching for foreign interference in our elections need to look no further than that LinkedIn post. The interference is occurring in plain sight."

The centre-left Labour Party, which views the U.S. Democrats as its sister party, won power in July.
